Something beautiful arrived at our house recently.
Not a package this time. A design.
Sophia created a Mother's Day greeting card featuring a mountain bluebird and a cardinal she drew herself. The word "mother" appears in languages from around the world – Mommy, Madre, Mutter, Ammi, Umama, Mamma.
It's a bestseller from her art fair booth. And as I looked at it, I realized: this is what money can do. It can buy a card. It can pay for postage. It can send a message across the country or across the street that says, "I see you. I love you. You matter."
Mother's Day is 13 days away. That's just enough time to order a card and mail it to your mom (or someone who's been like a mother to you).
